Directions
From the viewing point in front of the mast turn left onto Jagger Lane.
Take the first right turn onto Common Lane.
At the crossroads with Westfield Lane proceed straight ahead onto Windmill Hill Lane.
At the next major junction turn left onto Long Lane
At the end of Long Lane turn right onto Moor Top Lane.
The next mile or so is a long, busy stretch of road and care needs to be taken.
Carrying on straight ahead, Moor Top Lane becomes Paul Lane and the first check point and refreshment point is located in the car park of the Cinnamon Lounge on the right of the road.
Carry on straight ahead to the end of Paul Lane then turn right onto Wakefield Road. Upon crossing this road care needs to be taken.
At the Grange Moor Roundabout turn left onto Liley Lane.
The route now follows Liley Lane back towards the Hare & Hounds and then on towards Upper Hopton
Checkpoint two is located at the entrance to the quarry near to Black Dick’s tower and just short of the Hare & Hounds.
Carry on past the Hare and Hounds then take the next right turn onto Hopton Hall Lane towards Upper Hopton
At the mini roundabout in Upper Hopton turn right continuing down Hopton Hall Lane.
At the junction at the bottom of Hopton Hall Lane turn right onto Hopton Lane and carry on down the hill.
At the bottom of the hill turn left onto Calder Road in front of the Flower Pot.
At the end of Calder Road by the river bridge carry on straight ahead past the children’s playground bearing left onto Chadwick Lane
Take the first right onto Woodend Road in front of the school.
The finish point is the far end of Woodend Road where it joins the cycle path.
